 Great crested grebe route: A guided visit by mountain bike to the Ramsar wetland "Ullíbarri-Gamboa reservoir tails end"
The Álava County Council arranges guided visits by mountain bike to the southern area of the Ullíbarri-Gamboa reservoir, a Ramsar wetland, international convention which includes the most important wetlands of the world.
A 15 kilometers route through Garaio Provincial Park and Mendixur Ornithological Park following the Green Route enters us into the landscape of a unique wet zone because of its landscape, flora and fauna:  the Ullíbarri-Gamboa reservoir tail ends. Floating and above the watersheet footbridges, conditioned paths through a dense riverside vegetation, birds observatories and aquatic meadows are just some of the attractions of this visit..
The main attraction of the route is the Great Crested Grebe, which will amaze the bird observation enthusiasts, other species like Grey Heron, Common Coots, Red-crested Pochard, Red Shoveler, Mallard or Cormorants join this emblematic species. The biology and habits of the animals and plants of the area will be explained by the espeialised staff who will go with the visitors all along the route. This guides-interpreters staff ensures good views of the Great Crested Grebes and their habitat by a quality optical material.
